ETHICAL EVALUATION OF THE BAN AND RESTRICTIONS OF THE STREET AS A PUBLIC HEALTH MEASURE IN THE COVID-19 PANDEMIA
Research Article
With the widespread use of SARS Cov-2, COVID-19 has spread rapidly since its emergence and turned into a global public health problem. However, in the fight against the pandemic, countries have resorted to various public health measures and have taken effective measures to protect the health of the people. These include measures that interfere with individual rights and freedoms, such as travel restrictions, border closures to countries, business closures, curfews or restrictions. Public health measures aimed at protecting the health of the public and preventing and limiting the spread of the disease also caused ethical difficulties. In our study, we will conduct a normative analysis on the ethical issues surrounding curfews and restrictions as a public health measure. For this purpose, we will analyze the benefits and possible harms of curfews and restrictions on the public health and ethical evaluation of epidemiological studies showing the effectiveness of the measures taken. While doing this, we will discuss the impact of public participation and trust in public health interventions, as well as awareness of responsibility and unity (solidarity) on the epidemic.
